Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran

1. It is a 2018 movie which stars John Abraham, Boman Irani and Diana Penty with other supporting casts.
2. The movie loosely tells the story about the nuclear tests that was conducted by India in 1998 in Pokhran, Rajasthan. Ashwat Raina(John) is an IAS officer who tries to conduct nuclear bomb test in 1995 but he fails and leaves his IAS job. When the government changes, the new government reassigns the nuclear test project to Ashwat. He along with other officers of leading government organizations and the Indian Army carry out his project. Himanshu Shukla(Boman) is the principal secretary to the PM of India. He makes sure that Ashwat gets every help to complete this test. The only major problem they are facing is the US satellites that are hovering over and recording every suspicious activities. The US government had given strict orders to Indian government to not conduct these tests but anyhow Ashwat and his team smartly does the nuclear test and India becomes a super power.
3. During the 90s USA and Pakistan were close allies and they had spies in India who would check the military activities going around in India and inform it to their heads sitting in US and Pakistan.
4. The movie has shown how good and reliable IAS officers are not able to carry out their duties for the betterment of the country due to some corrupt and greedy politicians who only want their names on every successful  projects created and executed by skilled and hardworking bureaucrats.
5. This movie could have been more better as it was missing something in terms of reality or cinematography. The story was real and perfect and the acting too but it did not create much impact as it should have.
6. This story is also based on Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, the former President of India and the Missile Man of India who was member of the Pokhran test in 1998. Atal Bihari Vajayapee was the Prime Minister who sanctioned this project and had the guts to show the world that India is a super power.
7. This movie has shown as we can see nowadays also how the country of USA is showing their dominance over other developing countries by hook or crook. But we Indians fought against that like the way we fought against the Britishers.
8. The actors have shown some good acting skills and few showing some average acting performance. The movie was not critically acclaimed but was a successful movie financially.
9. You should watch this movie if you want to know the history of India as nuclear test of 1998 was a major breakthrough in the Indian Defence and an important chapter in the Indian History.
10. A one time watch movie and I give 6/10.
