RRR- what if it had a good story?

  1. RRR is a 2022 Telugu movie directed by S. S. Rajamouli that brings together (what if) Komaram Bheem and A. Rama Raju, the two Indian revolutionaries.
  2. The story is about a parallel universe where 2 Indian revolutionaries meet and fight against British rule after fighting among themselves. It all starts with the kidnapping of a tribal girl by the Britishers. The tribal leader Bheem (N. T. Rama Rao Jr) then successfully brings her back. He also meets Raju (Ram Charan), an Indian revolutionary disguised as a British cop to steal their armour. Both meet each other during this process and have a love-hate-lovelikeabro relationship which finally leads to the destruction of a section of the British army.
  3. There was too much action and extravaganza. It was a delight to watch, especially if you watch it on the big screen with great graphics that could give Hollywood some competition. The movie set and the costumes also deserve a big applause.
  4. The main question is about the story. Behind all this glamour, the story did fall short, and viewers might have ignored it for the sake of the graphical entertainment they received. We expected something like Bahubali, but not every Rajamouli film delivers to every audience.
  5.  Frankly speaking, Ram did better acting, while Rao’s acting had elements of overdoing it, especially in sad scenes. The Nattu song gives your legs life but was it worth winning the golden globe? No. According to me and many others, it was a sad day for the Indian music industry.
  6. The base plotline was about the forceful kidnapping of a tribal girl by the Britishers. It is also about a revolutionary who made his army against the British and then passed on the legacy to his son. The Brtishers considered themselves so superior that they robbed the world without shame.
  7. Rajamouli could have also made this movie in 2 parts by giving both the freedom fighters equal space and connecting them through the common link of Independence and Brtitishers. This way, there would be space for a good story, along with the graphics and all.
  8.  You could easily spot mistakes in many of the scenes or maybe the scenes were not prepared well to be shot, or maybe the actor spoiled it indirectly. For eg. in the last scene, the horse suddenly appears out of nowhere and Bheem comes out of the pond when he could have come a long time back.
  9.  A critically acclaimed movie that just broke all box-office records.
  10.  One time watch, and an ‘OKAY’ movie.
